Southern Comfort, made from neutral spirits with fruit, spice and whiskey flavorings, was originally created by bartender Martin Wilkes Heron at McCauley’s Tavern in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana in 1874.

Known throughout the world as The Grand Old Drink of the South. Enjoyed by itself, or mixed in traditional drinks or specialty cocktails such as the Alabama Slammer. Alabama Slammer: 1/2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz Southern Comfort, 1/2 oz amaretto, 1/2 oz sloe gin, orange juice. Pour the liquors into a highball glass filled with ice. Fill with orange juice.
