The celebrated Pinot Noir of the Willamette Valley typically offers supple red fruit, especially cranberry, without the powerful punch often packed by its California counterparts. A brambly nose of black currents, tart cherries, and violets is met with spicy cardamom and cinnamon. The palate reveals pie cherries, pomegranate, creamy violets and a touch of leather. Finishes lush with a nice backing acidity and a touch of mineral. “Pale ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Mount Richmond gives an expressive mulberry, black cherry and red plum-laced nose with hints of anise, red roses and oolong tea. The palate reveals a solid backbone of grainy tannins and lively acid, supporting the generous fruit and paving the long, spicy finish.” -Rated 93, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
