Domaine de Fondreche Rose ReviewDomaine de Fondreche Rose
Domaine de Fondrèche is one of the most well-known domaines in Ventoux, probably because winemaker Sébastien Vincenti has vines growing in the best sites of the appellation. His farming is certified organic, and he has been employing bio-dynamic practices in his vineyards for several vintages. A taut and light rose with hints of savory herb and thyme, followed by a light core of strawberry and watermelon rind.

“Very pale orange-pink. Powerful, mineral-tinged aromas of blood orange and red currant are complemented by a suave floral element. Concentrated red berry and orange zest flavors are sharpened by a white pepper note that adds back-end spiciness. Quite lithe for its depth of flavor; finishes stony, floral and long, carrying a subtle echo of bitter cherry.” – 90 Points – Antonio Galloni’s Vinous:

Girard Cabernet Sauvignon reviewGirard Cabernet Sauvignon
Thirty years after first planting its vineyards, Girard continues to produce wine reflecting the quality that has made Napa Valley the most famous New World wine growing region in the world. Napa’s rise to fame was punctuated by a renaissance that began at the same time Girard was setting down its own roots. Today, Girard is experiencing a similar rebirth of sorts. Longtime California vintner Pat Roney purchased the winery shortly after the new millenium.

As it has been in the past, Girard’s goal is to highlight the flavors of Napa Valley and its rich, ripe grapes. Aromatics showcase dark fruit notes intertwined with mocha and vanilla bean. Baking spice notes also blend with hints of aged cigar box. On the palate we see blackberry and cassis, mocha powder and a touch of rich leather. The finish of the Cabernet showcases rich dark fruit and expressive tannins.
