Aged 14 months in bourbon oak barrels, earth notes dominate here initially, but it opens up nicely to a combination of sweet (cinnamon, vanilla, white grape) and earth (must, oak, light suede). On the mouth, an intriguing mint / chocolate open is followed by must/wood and then lemon and butter, with a clean, short peppery finish.

Tequila Ocho sources its agaves from “single estates” – single parcels of land with unique microclimates. Tequila Ocho’s production process remains highly traditional. Las Pomez is an estate located in the “Los Altos” highlands. Overly mature agaves are slow-cooked in old stone ovens for 3 days and fermented in open wood casks.

The palate is subtly oaked with more almond flavor carrying through along with dry cacao, vegetal notes, and stewed fruit.
