Corsair Red Absinthe ReviewCorsair Red Absinthe
Corsair RED Absinthe is a unique interpretation on the classic green spirit. Corsair RED is made using traditional absinthe ingredients, but is tweaked with some unusual additions, including citrus, tarragon, dragon wormwood (a relative of grand wormwood) and red hibiscus flowers.
Buy Corsair Red Absinthe
Corsair started with traditional 1800?s recipes and herbs to give their absinthe superieure the clean notes of a classic blanche. Then they tweaked it with citrus, tarragon (dragon wormwood, a relative of the grand wormwood that is also used), and red hibiscus for floral tones and color. The result is clean, fresh, and floral. Tweaked tradition.

St. George Spirits Absinthe Verte ReviewSt. George Spirits Absinthe Verte
Distiller Lance Winters at St. George Spirits considers absinthe the pinnacle of the distiller’s art form. Why? Because creating a beautiful absinthe means taking a number of loud botanical ingredients and making them sing in harmony.

Sipped neat, St. George Absinthe Verte is a heady, herbaceous smack to the senses. It opens with spicy black licorice and then slowly evolves into citrus and grass profiles with a dose of sarsaparilla. To bring out another level of vivid flavors and a lovely louche (milky cloudiness) that seems to glow from within, a single large ice cube is ideal. Adding water further releases botanical oils into solution, deepening the louche and intensifying the heady, floral aroma.

Legendre Herbsaint Original ReviewLegendre Herbsaint Original
The first production of Herbsaint was in 1934. The name “Herbsaint” is from the French-Creole word for wormwood (L’Herbe Sainte) and advertised “Legendre Absinthe is now Herbsaint.” Legendre Absinthe never actually contained wormwood. It was instead promoted as “Absinthe without wormwood.” In 2009, the Sazerac Company resurrected the original formula and packaging and produced Herbsaint Original.

North Shore Distillery Sirene Absinthe Verte reviewNorth Shore Distillery Sirene Absinthe Verte
North Shore takes a fairly traditional approach to creating Sirène. They use the traditional trinity of absinthe ingredients along with a proprietary blend of additional herbs and spices to create Sirène’s richness and complexity. The process requires a significant amount of time, preparation and botanicals, but the result is worth the effort.

Absinthe is traditionally enjoyed in a drip. Pour about an ounce of absinthe in to an absinthe glass or a rocks glass. Then place an absinthe spoon on the glass and place a sugar cube (optional) on the spoon. If you do not have an absinthe spoon you can just add simple syrup to your absinthe. Then you drip ice cold water over your sugar cube and in to the absinthe. Adjust the water next time to your personal taste.
