Cristom Vineyards Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard reviewCristom Vineyards Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard
Cristom, established in 1992 by Paul Geary, is one of Oregon’s finest producers of Pinot Noir. Over the past two decades, it has earned a well-deserved reputation for producing world-class vineyard-designated wines that rival the best wines of Burgundy and New Zealand. Pinot Noir winemaking at Cristom follows Burgundian methods with minimal handling. 2009.
Cristom Vineyards Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard 2009
Jessie Vineyard is crimson-colored with an alluring nose of wood smoke, mineral, plum, and black cherry. This leads to a dense, structured wine with plump succulent fruit, a smooth-texture, and a lengthy finish. Drink it from 2010 to 2018. Continuity is the custom at Cristom Vineyards where the founder Paul Gerrie remains at the helm and the original winemaker, Steve Doerner still fashions world-class Pinot Noirs. -Rated 92, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Copain Syrah Garys Vineyard reviewCopain Syrah Garys Vineyard
At Copain, in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Wells Guthrie creates wines that are firmly rooted in California, yet with the sensibilities of the European wines that so moved him. He is as committed to crafting these elegant, nuanced wines as he is to building a legacy that will be passed down to his daughters in the great tradition of European winemakers whose estates have been in the same family for generations. 2005 .
Copain Syrah Garys Vineyard 2005
The 2005 Syrah Garys’ Vineyard is another one of those opulent/voluptuous Syrahs, with lavish smoky blackberry and cassis fruit, full body, crisp acidity, purity, and a nice, long finish. I can’t see this wine making old bones, but for drinking over the next 7-8 years, it certainly delivers plenty of pleasure. -Rated 93, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

El Molino Pinot Noir reviewEl Molino Pinot Noir
El Molino was founded in 1871 and was one of the first wineries in the Napa Valley. A Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir made from purchased grapes was added in the 2009 vintage. The Pinot Noir is aged in 70% new Francois Freres oak. The label is the original design introduced in 1871, displaying the Bale Mill or “El Molino.” 2009.
El Molino Pinot Noir 2009
A savory, relatively evolved, medium to full-bodied palate, and more flavor than its light-ish color suggests. Broad, savory, and ready to drink, I would not be surprised to see this wine evolve for 7-8 years or longer. The balance is impeccable. -Rated 90, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Luca Malbec

Luca Malbec reviewLuca Malbec
Laura Catena had a vision of creating a new breed of Argentine wines: small quantities, artisan quality, and true to their individual terroirs. A true pioneer of small-grower relations in Mendoza, Laura’s incredible, limited production wines come from some of Argentina’s best fruit from low-yield, high elevation, family-owned vineyards.
Luca Malbec
The 2008 Malbec spent 12 months in 60% new French oak. It is a glass-staining opaque purple color with an enthralling perfume of sandalwood, Asian spices, lavender, black cherry, and plum. On the palate this concentrated effort admirably combines power and elegance. Smooth-textured, spicy, and rich, it will evolve for 2-3 years and offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2023. -Rated 93, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.

Lokoya Cabernet Sauvignon Mt Veeder reviewLokoya Cabernet Sauvignon Mt Veeder
Mount Veeder is located in the southwest corner of Napa Valley in the Mayacamas Mountains at altitudes of 600 to 2100 feet. Similar to other Napa mountain locations, Mt. Veeder has warmer nights and cooler days than the valley floor. Mount Veeder red wines are typically firmly structured, ripe, rich and full-bodied. 2009.
Lokoya Cabernet Sauvignon Mt Veeder 2009
All mountain sites, all 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, all unfined and unfiltered – and all four are of irrefutably great quality. The case productions are relatively limited, from a very small 120-cases from the Howell Mountain and Spring Mountain sites to nearly 800 cases of Mt. Veeder. They all share several things in common – great ripeness, great texture, and fabulous aging potential. For example, the 1997s are just now starting to move into early adolescence. -Rated 96, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
